M-Learning and the 21st Century Library Workshop

Prek Leap High School៖

On June 26th and 27th, 2023, NGS Program organized a workshop on M-Learning and 21st Century Library for teachers in charge of libraries and ICT teachers. A total of four participants from primary and secondary schools were from Prek Leap High School, Preah Sisowath High School, Prek Anchanh High School, Kandal Province, and Preah Reach Akka Mohesy Primary School, Kampong Speu Province Under the coordination of Mr. Pich Sophoeun, New Generation School Program Officer.

The main contents of this workshop include:

Training 1:

Labeling.
Tablet Inventory.
Change Log.
Check Out Sheet.
Usage Report.

Training 2:

Tablet physical maintenance.
Loss or theft of a tablet.
Protecting students.

Training 3:

Selecting applications (Apps).
Managing Apps.
Using Apps.

Training 4:

Challenge and misconception.
M-learning program maturation.
Action steps to establish and grow the program.

Presentations on education in the 20th century and territorial views

Organizing physical and digital resources:

Video presentation by librarians working in 21st century libraries.
Exercise: Participants must find / cite specific examples from the video they observe of the guidelines described in Section 2 of the 21st Century Library Standards Book, including:
- Location & Space.
- Organization of Space.
- Physical & Digital Access.

Human resources for the library

Start with a self-assessment of each participant’s library using the assessment tools.
